Dry-mix mortars

Different types of dry-mix mortar are used for different parts of a building; the properties and functions of dry-mix mortar are determined by the various types of additives used. Mortar additives primarily enhance physical and mechanical properties to improve bond strength, increase water retention, enhance workability (lubrication, thixotropy), resist cracking and water penetration, and regulate setting time, thereby boosting construction efficiency. Common additives include cellulose ether, redispersible polymer powder, air-entraining agents, superplasticizers, and earlyaccelerators etc..
